Troy leads GovWell’s Sales, Business Development, and Deployment teams. Prior to GovWell, he was the first employee and Chief of Staff to the CEO and Co-Founder at RippleMatch, a New York-based software startup, helping it grow from $0 to $10M in annual revenue and a $200M valuation. Before RippleMatch, he worked for two U.S. senators from his home state of Wisconsin. He believes passionately in the potential for technology to help government work more effectively for citizens everywhere. Troy earned his BA in Government magna cum laude from Cornell University and studied political philosophy at New York University before dropping out to start GovWell.

Ben leads GovWell’s Product, Engineering, and Design teams. Ben grew up helping his father — a general contractor — to apply for hundreds of construction permits. Ben’s experiences navigating clunky, outdated government websites inspired him to build better solutions for the millions of tradespeople whose livelihoods depend on getting permits fast. Prior to founding GovWell, Ben worked for Uber and Amazon as a Software Engineer, and earned his AB in Computer Science summa cum laude from Princeton University.

Jessica is a Co-Founder and General Partner at Work-Bench, where she focuses on investments in future of work and enterprise applications. Jessica is passionate about growing and supporting women in enterprise tech. She is also a Forbes contributor, writing about emerging tech companies that are creating and enabling jobs for Americans. Prior to Work-Bench, Jessica was a Learning and Development Manager at Cisco Systems, where she worked with the Engineering organization on Agile transformation, innovation and culture. Jessica is actively involved with the education and workforce development community in New York City, as a longtime adult GED educator. Jessica received a B.A. from Harvard University in Government and African Studies, where she developed an aspirational design and experiential education summer fellowship program in Cape Town, South Africa and Paris, France.

Bill Frick served as the Majority Leader for the Maryland House of Delegates from 2017-2019, and as a member representing the 16th district from 2007-2019. Frick was instrumental in passing key legislation related to environmental protection, health care, and economic development, earning a reputation as a dedicated and effective legislator. In addition to his political career, Frick has had a successful legal career specializing in commercial litigation. After leaving the House of Delegates, he has continued to be active in public service and community affairs, contributing his expertise to various boards and initiatives in Maryland. He received his JD from Harvard Law School and BA from Northwestern University.

Michael A. Nutter served as the 98th Mayor of Philadelphia from 2008 to 2016, having previously spent nearly 15 years in the Philadelphia City Council. Since leaving public office in 2016, he has remained active in public policy, government, and civic life. He is the inaugural David N. Dinkins Professor of Professional Practice in Urban and Public Affairs at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and holds fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago, and Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics. Mayor Nutter is past President of the United States Conference of Mayors and founder of Cities United. He is on the board of Rubicon Technologies, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, the Council on Criminal Justice, Heartland Alliance, the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation, the Urban Institute and the Advisory Board of the African American Mayor’s Association. Mayor Nutter maintains active involvement in critical areas of education, media, public policy, political campaigns, the corporate community and academic institutions across the country. He holds a B.S. Degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Richard Berry is the former Mayor of Albuquerque, New Mexico (2009-2017). He was the first republican Mayor in 30 years and won reelection to his second term with a historically high 69% percent of the vote. He is a fiscal steward who guided his city through the great recession while maintaining a AAA rating from Standard & Poor’s. His unique approach to efficiency, stewardship and accountability measures created taxpayer saving exceeding $30 million dollars, much of which is recurring year over year. He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his transparency measures. Albuquerque has a strong mayor system which put Mayor Berry in the CEO position of an organization employing nearly 6,000 people with a budget approaching a billion dollars. Mayor Berry was known for his innovative and non-partisan approach to government and had a proven ability to bring diverse groups together to work out solutions to some of the most persistent and complex urban challenges of our day.

Mick Cornett is a businessman and former 4-Term Mayor of Oklahoma City. In 2018, he was named to Fortune Magazine’s list of the The 50 Greatest Leaders in the World. In 2024 he was named by the Urban Land Institute as the Canizaro/Klingbeil Chair for Urban Development. Cornett spent 20 years as a television sportscaster/news anchor/sports play-by-play broadcaster. Following the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 he diverted his attention to public service and served as a full-time college professor before winning a seat on the Oklahoma City Council in 2001. In 2004 he won the city-wide election for Mayor and thus began a series of record-setting political victories. His re-election percentage of 87% in 2006 is the highest in city history. During his tenure, Oklahoma City experienced an economic renaissance that is still in progress. He based his philosophies on ‘creating a city where highly educated young people will choose to live.’ In January of 2012 he was Michele Obama’s personal guest at the State of the Union Address in Washington D.C. Cornett is best known for helping to bring an NBA franchise to Oklahoma City and for addressing the community’s shortcomings in areas of health and wellness. His leadership to pass the transformational MAPS 3 initiative has spurred an enormous amount of private investment into the city. Over 80,000 new jobs were created in the city while he was Mayor. Newsweek called him one of The 5 Most Innovative Mayors in America. The European based World Mayor Organization named him the second-best Mayor in the World. And Governing Magazine proclaimed him a Public Official of the Year. He was the President of the United States Conference of Mayors in 2016-17. In 2018, he chose not to run for a fifth term as Mayor. He has a Journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from New York University.

Marykate is GovWell's founding Deployment Strategist, where she partners with cities to effectively implement GovWell's software solutions. As the company’s first employee, she has been instrumental in shaping the customer success strategies that drive the company's mission. Marykate has a strong background in working closely with clients and managing logistics. She has coordinated complex operations for multiple presidential campaigns and led successful customer initiatives at GovWell and other organizations. Her passion for making government more accessible and effective fuels her commitment to enhancing public service through technology. She holds a BA in Psychology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Shane is GovWell's founding Business Development Manager and employee #2. As the first go-to-market hire, he has been key in developing and executing the company’s growth strategy in furtherance of its mission to help government serve communities better with modern software. Prior to GovWell, Shane co-owned and operated a boutique music & audio services house, held various operational roles at a Fortune 500 telecom REIT, and coached alpine ski racing. Shane enjoys skiing, writing and producing music, spending time with friends and family, and being around dogs. Shane holds a BA in Political Science and Community Health from Tufts University.

Sarah Peters is a founding member of GovWell's Deployment team, bringing her entrepreneurial expertise and passion for innovation to the company. She has a proven track record of launching and scaling startups, particularly in the luxury travel industry. Sarah co-founded Lucia, a marketplace that connects the luxury travel sector with freelancers, helping businesses navigate labor shortages and grow efficiently without the need for full-time hiring. She also co-founded and served as Managing Director of TripKit, a virtual assistant service for luxury travel advisors, which was successfully acquired in 2022. Before joining GovWell, Sarah was recognized as one of 30 founders in NYC to join the 2023 Startup Leadership Program and was also selected to participate in the prestigious Techstars Catalyst Accelerator. She holds a BS in Applied Economics and Management with a concentration in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Cornell University’s Dyson School. She was since awarded the SC Johnson College of Business 10 Under 10 Notable Alumni award. Sarah is excited to leverage her experience and passion for technology to support local governments in enhancing their services and making a meaningful impact in their communities.

As a Founding Account Executive at GovWell, David works with government agencies to teach them about what GovWell can do for them. You can find him most often talking with prospective government users, demoing our platform or spreading the word about GovWell at industry events. David has spent the last 10+ years working at tech startups as a founding salesperson at each company he has been a part of. Most recently he contributed to the team at RippleMatch, helping them bring their platform to the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies and reach a valuation of $200M. Prior, he worked with Spektrix where he ran sales and marketing for their US & Canada team and brought on their first 100+ customers in North America.

Liam, a Florida native, is a member of GovWell’s sales team, where he helps government organizations find the right software solutions to streamline their processes. With over 5 years of experience in tech sales, Liam enjoys using his communication skills to connect with potential customers and understand their needs. Outside of work, Liam loves staying active in the sun, watching sports with friends, going to concerts, traveling, and finding the nearest beaches. He also enjoys taking on new learning opportunities. Liam holds a Bachelor’s Degree from New College of Florida and an MBA from San Diego State University.

Granger is a Business Development Manager at GovWell where he helps local governments discover modern solutions to better run their communities. Prior to GovWell, he has worked on improving hiring practices at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and assisted in forming a novel sustainable energy utility in Atlanta. Granger holds a B.S. in Public Policy from Georgia Tech.

Briana Barlow-Maibaum is a Deployment Strategist at GovWell, bringing a wealth of international experience in operations and customer success, in startup environments. Growing up as a second-generation immigrant, with both parents who were public servants for the city of Los Angeles, Briana is passionate about helping local governments streamline their processes and improve their services to citizens. As a former track and field athlete at UCLA, Briana is no stranger to putting in the work to become successful. Her time spent living abroad in Spain, Italy, and Germany, has also cultivated a deep understanding of different cultures and perspectives, enabling her to connect effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds. Beyond work Briana enjoys reading, cooking, scream-singing while dancing in her backyard, and the thrill of exploring a new part of the world on the back of her husband's motorcycle.

As a Marketing Manager at GovWell, Leila focuses on helping local governments become more efficient and improve their service to citizens. Before joining GovWell, she held positions at Bain & Company and in entertainment marketing, and worked on strategy for startups in the education and healthcare services sectors. Leila holds a B.S. in Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University.

Nate Levin brings nearly a decade of experience in government, politics, and policy to his role as Deployment Strategist at GovWell. Nate has worked on two presidential campaigns, Senate races, and alongside municipal government across the country, including as Founder of Campaign Brain. As a recipient of the prestigious Rosenthal Fellowship at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Nate deepened his expertise in policy and public service. With a strong track record of success in early-stage and growth companies, Nate has served as Founding Account Manager and Director of Customer Success at Fusemachines. Outside of GovWell, he can often be found between the pipes as a hockey goalie, hitting the ski slopes, or exploring New York’s vibrant food scene. Nate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Bates College and a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Yoni is a Deployment Operations Manager at GovWell, where he helps implement GovWell’s software for local governments, ensuring customers succeed in enhancing their services and strengthening their communities. Yoni’s professional and educational background give him a deep understanding of the challenges local communities face and the tools needed to address them. Previously, Yoni worked with local fire departments to improve emergency response times and has collaborated with various local governments to refine emergency management practices. Yoni studied Molecular Biology and Computer Science at Princeton University and holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Management from Tel Aviv University. Outside of work, Yoni enjoys hiking, experimenting with new recipes, and indulging in all-you-can-eat sushi.

Ali joins GovWell as a Business Development Manager, helping cities modernize how they plan, permit, and build. She brings experience in climate technology, finance, and policy having previously supported the Investing in American Agenda at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Ali is most inspired by GovWell’s mission of using innovation to make government - and democracy writ large - more effective. Ali graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelors in Political Science and a Masters in Sustainability. Outside of GovWell, she is always on the hunt for a pick up beach volleyball game.

Alicia Gopal is a Business Development Manager at GovWell. She is excited about bringing GovWell to more cities, supporting its mission of helping municipalities deliver the services taxpayers deserve, and rebuilding trust in government. Alicia brings experience spanning Capitol Hill, federal data research, and event planning for the White House and Harris for President campaign. She earned her BA in Economics and Statistics from Georgetown University.

Kenneth focuses on ensuring GovWell customers implement and maximize the value of our software. With over ten years of experience in customer success, he's helped hundreds of customers successfully adopt new technology. He's passionate about equipping local governments with the right tools to better serve their communities.

Portia assists in GovWell’s data migration efforts, helping clients to transfer their data from old systems into GovWell. She brings 3 years of software implementation and data analytics experience. She holds an M.S. in Data Science from Stevens Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Math & Economics from Lafayette College.

Richard is a software engineer at GovWell, where he builds seamless systems that enable governments to better serve their constituents. Throughout his career, Richard has gained expertise across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including backend development, frontend engineering, and data science. Prior to joining GovWell, he spent five years at Microsoft, contributing to applications in the education and business sectors. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his free time, he enjoys reading, rock climbing, and dancing.

As a Founding Account Executive, Harrison brings extensive experience delivering online services to local governments across the US. Throughout his career, Harrison has assisted hundreds of government agencies in improving service delivery and making their daily operations more efficient. After spending years working with local government, Harrison provided compliance guidance to software companies at Thoropass and delivered AI solutions to leading industrial manufacturers with Aperio. He is excited to return to his passion for making a positive impact on small communities and making a difference in the lives of our government partners.

Alina Dunlap is a Deployment Strategist at GovWell, where she works closely with local governments to tailor and implement the platform to meet their evolving needs. Her role combines customer success, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution — all in service of helping public servants deliver better outcomes for their communities. She has spent over six years studying local governments, and is passionate about helping government staff find solutions to challenges in service provision under resource constraints. Alina is happier talking about municipal bonds and property taxes than almost anything else. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, gardening, and learning foreign languages. Alina previously taught English in Russia through the U.S. Fulbright Program and speaks several languages, including Spanish and French. Alina holds a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University and an M.A. in Politics from Princeton University. She is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Princeton.

Andy is an Account Executive on GovWell’s sales team, where he educates government agencies on the platform and helps them adopt modern tools to serve their communities more effectively. He brings experience in software sales and go-to-market strategies at fast-growing enterprise software startups. Outside of work, Andy is an avid traveler and lifelong basketball fan and player. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan.

Rafi is a Deployment Operations Manager at GovWell, where he helps implement GovWell’s software for local governments. He previously worked at several design-oriented non-profit organizations in New York City, advancing public conversations about architecture, planning, and public space. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history magna cum laude from Princeton University with minors in urban studies and environmental studies, and studied landscape architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.

Emily brings a passion for improving government efficiency. Before joining GovWell, Emily worked in sales strategy at Via, a tech company making public transit more accessible and in partnerships at a hospitality company. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Kent State University.In her free time, she enjoys trying new cafes, going to workout classes, and solo traveling.

Jenny is a seasoned relationship builder and award-winning storyteller with a multidisciplinary background spanning SaaS business development, TV casting, podcast production, and more. Across every role, her key focus has been building genuine connection with others, and she’s thrilled to be able to contribute those skills towards GovWell’s mission as a Business Development Manager. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tufts University. Outside of work, Jenny can often be found reading fiction, eating ice cream, exploring Brooklyn’s tiny parks, and occasionally scuba diving.

Austin is GovWell’s internal recruiter, where he works closely with leadership to attract and hire top talent to join GovWell’s world class team. Austin has been recruiting for companies in NYC for the past 10 years, most recently scaling Jackpocket through it’s acquisition by DraftKings, and hiring technical talent at PermitFlow for the past year. Austin lives in the financial district with his wife Sandra, and their 6 year old mini Australian Shepherd, Bhumi.

As a Business Development Manager at GovWell, Ryan helps local governments modernize their community development processes and improve citizen services. He previously worked in urban planning and built environment technology with the City of Boston's Office of Housing Stability, HDR's transportation planning division designing rail systems for metropolitan agencies, CALSTART's Drive to Zero team promoting clean transportation across 30+ countries, and startup Vested Futures helping corporations adopt and partner with emerging clean technologies. Ryan holds a BA in International Relations & Urban Studies from Tufts University (2023). His passion for cities and experience spanning government, consulting, and technology gives him unique insight into municipal challenges.

Nick Martino is a Business Development Manager at GovWell, where he brings a passion for public service and a strong foundation in political and economic systems. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and has since worked in property management at UMD and as a Field Organizer for the Maine Democratic Party. Outside of work, Nick enjoys music and performing, cooking and baking, and spending time near any large body of water. He’s excited to help expand GovWell’s reach and impact through thoughtful partnerships and mission-driven growth.

Michael Sosnick is a software engineer at GovWell, and brings years of experience both as an engineer at Meta / Facebook and as a product manager at Universal Music Group. His work has centered on thoughtful, user-centered design, developing features that deliver real value, and contributing to tools that help people engage with charitable causes, artists, and digital communities. He holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of Business and a B.A.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology. Outside of work, Michael enjoys cooking from whatever ingredients he has on hand, adventuring in books of epic fantasy, and walking around new cities.

Jason is excited to lead marketing at GovWell. He began his career in Deloitte’s Government & Public Sector consulting practice in Washington, DC, where he saw firsthand how innovative digital solutions can transform government systems. He later held operations and growth roles at climate-tech startups, including AeroFarms, a pioneer in vertical farming, and Kopperfield, a software platform that streamlines permitting for electrical contractors. Jason graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with an A.B. in Political Science and earned a master’s degree in International Relations and Politics from the University of Cambridge through the Fulbright Program.

Zach is thrilled to join GovWell as Founding Mobile Engineer. Throughout his career, he has aimed to build robust, first-class mobile experiences that make historically complex processes feel as seamless and accessible as ordering delivery. Most recently, he spent 8 years leading mobile development at TodayTix, empowering discovery and ticket delivery for live entertainment at scale. Zach graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Computer Science. Outside of work, you can find him ambling around Riverside Park, watching live theater, or slogging through a Saturday crossword puzzle.

Ethan graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Computer Science and Game Design. He started his career at NYC startups and is excited to be at GovWell after some time at bigger companies such as Amazon and PwC. When not writing code you can find him rock climbing, playing board games and video games, cooking up a storm, or attending a drag show.

Sydney is driven by the mission of using innovative practices to make government work better and improve services for communities. She previously worked at the White House in the Office of Vice President Kamala Harris and, most recently, was the Assistant Director and Senior Policy Analyst at the Women’s Initiative at Columbia University. A passionate community builder, Sydney spearheaded the successful campaign to include girls in the Boy Scouts of America (now called Scouting America), opening opportunities for over 175,000 young women. Sydney graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Political Science and Psychology. Outside of GovWell, she can be found taking a dance class, spending time with her dog Scout, or seeing a live show in NYC.

Ben is a Business Development Manager at GovWell, where he brings experience working closely with both the public and private sectors, alongside a strong foundation in policy. He graduated from Tufts University, where he studied International Relations and Political Science, and previously worked at the Business Council for International Understanding supporting engagement between business leaders, diplomats, and policymakers. Ben is motivated to help governments move beyond antiquated systems to restore public trust and abate polarization. Outside of work, he enjoys distance running, road biking, and spending time outdoors.

A native Californian, Catherine joins GovWell with a strong, long-standing commitment to strengthening civic engagement. Her passion was ignited through previous roles at the Brennan Center for Justice and as a campaign field organizer for Senator Mark Kelly in Arizona—experiences that underscored the importance of empowering local governments. Now, she’s excited to channel that passion into helping local governments access the modern tools they need to better serve their communities. Catherine graduated from Cornell University, where she majored in Government. Beyond GovWell, she serves on the Junior Board of Gotham Food Pantry and enjoys yoga and beach days.
